Effective date: October 3, 2026. CheerUp Buddy is an AI happiness companion offering supportive chat and voice interactions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use CheerUp Buddy.
We collect account details, such as your email address and name; preferences, such as your buddy voice, motivation style, and happiness interests; and goals you choose to share. We also process your chat messages and happiness session content. Voice recordings are used for transcription. Technical and diagnostic data may be collected to help operate, troubleshoot, and improve the app. Please share only information you are comfortable providing.
We use your information to provide the chat and voice experience, transcribe voice notes, generate personalized responses and greetings, play text-to-speech audio, and maintain your account. We may also use information to improve the app and maintain internal usage statistics.
CheerUp Buddy uses third-party AI services from OpenAI to generate text responses, synthesize speech, and transcribe voice notes. Relevant messages, preferences, goals, or session content may be sent to these services as necessary to provide the requested experience.
Messages, session content, and goals may be retained while your account is active, unless you delete them or request deletion. Voice recordings used for transcription are not intended to be permanently stored. Some information may need to be retained for legal, security, or operational requirements.
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reasonable safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Google Play in-app subscriptions are processed by Google. CheerUp Buddy does not receive your full payment card details. You can manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play. Subscription billing and payment information are handled under Google's applicable terms and privacy policies.
CheerUp Buddy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and arrange deletion.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You can use available app controls to update information or delete content, including deleting your account and its associated data. You may also contact us with a deletion request. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Additional rights may apply depending on your location.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app or our practices change. Updates will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
